Over the two days, 27–28 October 2025, DOFDAHR’s field teams carried out several outreach activities, including:Home visits reaching 60 households with a total of 362 individuals, benefiting 267 people directly. Two community dialogue sessions targeting women aged 25–50 years, with 34 participants. As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities to Combat Cholera, and with the support from IOMSudan, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continued its awareness activities in Tawila, North Darfur, on 25–26 October 2025. The activities included home visits to 60 households and two awareness sessions for women, reaching over 350 community members with key messages on cholera prevention, personal hygiene, and water safety.

The activities included home visits to 30 households, reaching a total of 223 individuals (99 males and 124 females), with 204 direct beneficiaries. Additionally, a community awareness session was conducted, engaging 23 participants to discuss cholera prevention measures and the importance of personal and public hygiene

The activities included home visits to 30 households (172 individuals), reaching 129 direct beneficiaries. A community discussion session targeting 16 women aged between 25 and 30 was also conducted in Shokshoko area. Additionally, an awareness event was held at Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque and Khalwa, benefiting over 480 participants. An interactive theatre performance was organized as part of the campaign to raise health awareness on cholera prevention, combining education and entertainment to deliver vital health messages in an engaging and effective way.

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities aimed at combating cholera and promoting health and hygiene awareness, and with the support from IOM Sudan, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continued its field awareness activities throughout October 2025 in Shokshoko North, Tawila locality, North Darfur State. During this month, the first field team conducted the third community awareness session, targeting male participants aged between 65 and 85 years.Results from the knowledge assessment indicated a 90% increase in awareness of cholera symptoms and prevention methods, while 80% of participants reported adopting positive health practices such as drinking safe water and seeking care at health facilities. The practical evaluation also included demonstrations on the preparation of oral rehydration solution (ORS) and the use of chlorine, reflecting a significant improvement in participants’ hygiene practices and health knowledge.These activities are part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to support communities affected by cholera outbreaks, promoting collective action and behavioral change through continuous awareness and community mobilization campaigns.

As part of its ongoing response to the cholera outbreak, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a series of awareness activities in October 2025 in Nyala, South Darfur. The activities included two community dialogue sessions benefiting 70 participants, focusing on cholera prevention measures, personal hygiene, and water safety. In addition, home visits were carried out, reaching 30 households with a total of 203 individuals (108 males and 95 females), including 164 direct beneficiaries. These efforts form part of DOFDAHR’s emergency response to curb the spread of cholera and to support the most vulnerable families in affected communities.

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness on cholera prevention, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a community discussion session in Shokshoko – Shajarat Al-Shuyoukh in October 2025, with the participation of health promoters. The session witnessed active participation from 100 women aged between 20 and 40 years. Participants demonstrated a notable improvement in knowledge and positive behaviors, particularly regarding drinking chlorinated water and seeking medical care at health centers. In addition, the team conducted home visits to 30 families (164 individuals) to further promote healthy practices, including the preparation of oral rehydration solutions and water chlorination techniques.

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat the spread of cholera, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) implemented an interactive awareness drama at Diba Naira – Shakshako IDP Camp in Tawila locality, North Darfur State, in partnership with and support from IOM Sudan. The activity aimed to enhance community awareness of cholera prevention methods and promote positive health behaviors through an engaging theatrical approach that combined education and entertainment. This creative method helped convey key health messages in an accessible and impactful way.The event witnessed active participation from community members, benefiting a total of 1,980 people of different ages, The initiative reflects DOFDAHR’s continued commitment to community engagement and public health promotion as part of its broader humanitarian response in Darfur.

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat the cholera outbreak in South Darfur, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted an awareness campaign on cholera prevention through an engaging theatrical performance by the Al-Mashish Comedy Troupe at the School Complex in Al-Wahda neighborhood, Nyala South. with support from IOM Sudan. The activity attracted around 500 community members, including 450 women and 50 men, who actively participated in the awareness sessions. The campaign aimed to promote hygiene practices and raise public awareness to help prevent the spread of cholera, as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing emergency health response in partnership with humanitarian. actors.

The campaign concluded with the distribution of health leaflets at Mecca Mosque in Al-Wahda, in coordination with the mosque’s Imam.The activity reached over 700 people, including worshippers and children. These activities are part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing emergency health response efforts, aimed at strengthening community awareness and promoting preventive health behaviors among displaced and host populations in South Darfur.
