DOFDAHR Provides Shelter Support to Conflict-Affected Families in North Darfur

As part of its ongoing humanitarian response to the needs of displaced families, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today distributed shelter materials to 35 families among the most war-affected households in Saluma Camps (A), (B), and (C) in El Fasher. The activity was supported by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and implemented through DOFDAHR’s network of dedicated volunteers.This intervention aims to provide safe shelter and improve the living conditions of displaced families. The distribution will continue in the coming days to cover the remaining targeted locations.

DOFDAHR Distributes Shelter Materials and Mosquito Nets to Displaced Families in El Fasher

The Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), conducted a distribution campaign of shelter materials and mosquito nets across several displacement centers in El Fasher. The distribution covered the Dabbagha Shelter Centre, Al-Thawra Basic School for Boys, Zat Al-Nataqain School, and Al-Shaheed Center, benefiting 40 of the most vulnerable families. This initiative is part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to improve living conditions and health protection for displaced persons in North Darfur. The distribution activities will continue in other shelter centers in the coming days

DOFDAHR Volunteers Distribute Food Baskets to Vulnerable Families in El Fasher

With generous support from a philanthropist for the people of El Fasher amounting to 500,000 SDG, a team of volunteers from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food distribution initiative at the shelter center of Al-Thawra Secondary School for Girls. A total of 25 food baskets was distributed to the most vulnerable families and persons with disabilities. Each basket contained essential food items, including flour, rice, lentils, oil, and sugar, aimed at alleviating the current food insecurity faced by displaced and affected households. In addition to the philanthropist’s contribution, DOFDAHR and its volunteers contributed 15,000 SDG to support the initiative. DOFDAHR expresses its sincere appreciation to the generous donor and all volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make this humanitarian intervention possible

Distribution of food baskets for IDPs in North Darfur

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid, Dofdahr distributed 100 food baskets to vulnerable people in North Darfur state. The activities implemented as follows: 1) 25.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Zat Al-netagen School to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 2) 25.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al-Thawra Primary School for Boys to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 3) 26.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- etehad Higher School for girls to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 4) 26.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- shaheed Center to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 5) 27.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- salam Higher School to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities.

Urgent Humanitarian Appeal for a Needy Family

Dear compassionate hearts, We urgently seek assistance for a family facing dire circumstances. The family consists of the father, Arbab Zakaria, and the mother, Halima Abdul Rahman Adam, along with three children. They currently reside in a precarious hut, facing extreme difficulties, particularly with the onset of winter. They lack blankets, bedding, and shelter to protect them from the cold. Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources visited the family at their residence, conducted an interview with the mother (who is suffering from a mental illness), and learned about their challenging situation. The father works in the profession of manufacturing bricks (the trade of “Al Kwanin”). The organization, acknowledging its responsibilities toward the community, appeals to all the benevolent and compassionate individuals to stand with this family. We request any possible support, including providing them with a rented house. It is important to note that their current dwelling is unauthorized, situated in a residential area designated for someone else. Additionally, the family is impoverished, facing difficulties in accessing water due to their distance from the nearest water source. They also struggle with obtaining sufficient food due to their low income. Any assistance for the family is greatly appreciated, whether it be in the form of food items, bedding, used or new children’s clothing, or contributions towards renting a house.
