dangers of conjunctival disease

The Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources seeks to educate the community about the dangers of diseases. Today, volunteers from the organization organized a session to raise awareness about the dangers of conjunctival disease at the Riyadh Mosque camp (Ansar al-Sunna Mosque) in El Fasher, accepting others inside the camp in this exceptional circumstance, and counting and registering needy families to carry out the food distribution activity with support from Norwegian. People’s Aid.

Distribution of Shelter Materials and Mosquito Nets to the Most Needy Families in El Fasher, Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid.

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources distributed today shelter materials and mosquito nets with the support of Norwegian People’s Aid in the shelter centers in El Fasher. The distribution included the Debaga Shelter Center, Thawra Primary School for Boys, Zat Al-Nitaqain School, and the Martyr Center, targeting 40 families from the most needy households. The distribution will continue in other centers.

mosquito spraying campaign

As part of its programs in vector control and disease control and in preparation for the implementation of the project to distribute shelter materials and mosquito nets with support from the NPA the DOFDAHR implemented, through its volunteers, a mosquito spraying campaign at the tanning shelter center for displaced people, which houses 270 families. The volunteers provided enlightenment on protection from the dangers of eye infections that are now widespread and how to Prevent it and avoid shaking hands with the patient. The center suffers from a severe shortage of toilets.

Emergency Food Distribution for Newly Displaced Families in El Fasher Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

In response to the humanitarian appeal launched by the High Committee for Emergencies and Humanitarian Organizations in El Fasher, and as part of efforts to provide life-saving emergency food assistance, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), today distributed food baskets to 83 newly displaced families at Al-Doha Center in Neivasha Camp and the Shelter Center in Al-Sahafa Square in El Fasher. The distribution will continue tomorrow to reach an additional 200 families across other IDP centers in the city. The project specifically targets elderly people, persons with disabilities, and the most vulnerable households, as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to support those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.

Dialogue Sessions in Kampala Empower Sudanese Youth for Justice and Post-War Peacebuilding

As part of the Project to Strengthen the Capacities of Sudanese in the Diaspora to Support Peace Efforts and Post-War Mechanisms, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources, in collaboration with Binaa for Democracy & Development and with support from USAID Sudan, organized the fourth Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Kampala, Uganda. The session discussed the book “Recognition: Towards a New Concept of Justice – A Study in Social Philosophy” by Algerian philosopher Zawawi Baghoura, with the participation of 20 young men and women. The discussion explored the concept of recognition as a tool for addressing social, economic, and political issues, while emphasizing the role of youth in justice, transitional justice, and national reconciliation—key pillars for building a just society in post-war Sudan. Within the same series of activities, another dialogue session was held in Kampala, focusing on the theme of Identity and Nationalism, with the participation of 19 young Sudanese representing 18 states. The session aimed to strengthen youth capacities in critical thinking, networking, and advocacy, empowering them to play an active role in shaping a sustainable future for Sudan.

Ongoing Distribution to Vulnerable Families in El Fasher Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

As part of its continued support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in El Fasher, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today distributed food items to 41 of the most vulnerable families at the Al-Shikh Yaser Afandi IDPs Center. This intervention was funded by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and forms part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing humanitarian response aimed at alleviating food insecurity and supporting displaced families affected by the ongoing crisis in North Darfur.

Food Distribution for Displaced Families in North Darfur Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today launched the first round of food basket distributions, targeting 60 displaced families sheltered at Al-Salam Secondary School for Girls in El Fasher. This initiative comes in response to the urgent humanitarian needs of families who have been forced to flee their homes and are currently facing severe shortages of food, water, and clothing. The program will continue in the coming days to cover other displacement centers across the city as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to assist the most vulnerable groups.

DOFDAHR Distributes Food Baskets to Displaced Families in Zamzam Camp

As part of its emergency humanitarian response, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today carried out the distribution of food baskets to displaced families in Zamzam (Takmari) Camp, North Darfur. The activity was supported by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).A total of 100 families, including the most vulnerable households and persons with disabilities, benefited from the distribution. These families continue to face severe challenges due to displacement and shortages of food and water. This initiative reflects DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of affected communities and support the resilience of displaced populations in Darfur.

Food Distribution to Vulnerable Families in El Fasher Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), volunteers from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food distribution activity targeting the most vulnerable and needy families at the IDP camp in the Riyadh neighborhood (Riyadh Mosque and Ansar Al-Sunna Mosque) in El Fasher. A total of 50 families benefited from this initiative. Each family received a food basket containing:2 kg of sugar2 kg of flour2 kg of rice2 kg of lentils2 bags of pasta1 bag of salt4 liters of oil5 kg of onions. This intervention comes as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to support internally displaced persons and strengthen community resilience amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
