Distribution of Shelter Materials and Mosquito Nets to the Most Needy Families in El Fasher, Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid.

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources distributed today shelter materials and mosquito nets with the support of Norwegian People’s Aid in the shelter centers in El Fasher. The distribution included the Debaga Shelter Center, Thawra Primary School for Boys, Zat Al-Nitaqain School, and the Martyr Center, targeting 40 families from the most needy households. The distribution will continue in other centers.

mosquito spraying campaign

As part of its programs in vector control and disease control and in preparation for the implementation of the project to distribute shelter materials and mosquito nets with support from the NPA the DOFDAHR implemented, through its volunteers, a mosquito spraying campaign at the tanning shelter center for displaced people, which houses 270 families. The volunteers provided enlightenment on protection from the dangers of eye infections that are now widespread and how to Prevent it and avoid shaking hands with the patient. The center suffers from a severe shortage of toilets.

Distribution of 50 hygiene kits to girls in IDP shelters

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid, Dofdahr distributed 50 hygiene kits to vulnerable girls in North Darfur state. The activities implemented as follows: 7.8.2024 – Distributed (50) personal hygiene supplies to girls at the displaced persons shelter at Umm Shajaira Basic School for Boys in El Fasher.  The distribution is accompanied by awareness.

Distribution of clean water for drinking in North Darfur IDP camps and shelters

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid, Dofdahr distributed water to vulnerable people in North Darfur state. The activities implemented as follows: 1) 27.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Abu- Jarpoun center, 235 family benefited from it. 2) 28.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at South Higher School for girls, 177 family benefited from it 3) 29.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Al- barary center, 257 family benefited from it 4) 30.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Shalla Prison  center, 150 family benefited from it 5) 31.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Abu- Jarpoun center, 180 family benefited from it.

Distribution of food baskets for IDPs in North Darfur

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid, Dofdahr distributed 100 food baskets to vulnerable people in North Darfur state. The activities implemented as follows: 1) 25.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Zat Al-netagen School to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 2) 25.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al-Thawra Primary School for Boys to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 3) 26.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- etehad Higher School for girls to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 4) 26.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- shaheed Center to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities. 5) 27.7.2024 – Distributed 20 food baskets in the IDP shelter center at Al- salam Higher School to 20 families of the most vulnerable displaced people and people with disabilities.

2nd Workshop to Combat Identity-based Violence in El-Fasher

Despite all the challenges, dofdahr.org organized today the second workshop to combat identity-based violence in the hall of the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources in El Fasher, with the support of Rights for Peace, with the participation of several representatives of shelter centers, civil society organizations, and civil administrationsThe workshop covered the concept of violence, the legal and formal framework, and how to fight it based on identity. رغم كل التحديات نظمت منظمة دارفور للتنمية والموارد البشرية اليوم الورشة التدريبية الثانية لمحاربة العنف المبني علي اساس الهوية بقاعة منظمة دارفور للتنمية والموارد البشرية بالفاشر بدعم من منظمة Rights for Peace بمشاركة عدد من ممثلي مراكز الايواء ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والادارات الاهلية حيث غطت الورشة مفهوم العنف الاطار القانوني والشكلي وكيفية محاربته علي اساس الهوية.

Awareness Session on Disease Prevention in IDP Shelters – El Fasher

The center for sheltering displaced people at Badr al-Kubri Basic School for Girls was among the centers that included awareness sessions on the dangers of diseases and ways to combat and prevent them (malaria, dengue fever,) and identity-based violence), organized by the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources in North Darfur, El Fasher. In continuation of the community awareness campaign in the shelters for displaced people in North Darfur, El Fasher, the Darfur Organization for Development and Resources (DOFDAHR )organized an awareness session at the Sharqia Model Primary School Center for Boys. The session included awareness of the dangers of diseases (malaria, cholera, typhoid), methods of its spread, and ways to combat and prevent it. Workshop on Combating Identity-Based Violence in El Fasher

Today, Wednesday, a workshop on combating identity-based violence was launched at the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources hall in the city of El Fasher. The workshop brought together representatives from shelters, civil society organizations, media, activists, and volunteers in the community. Mujahid Saleh Adam, a representative of the Darfur Organization, explained that the workshop was organized based on recommendations and outcomes from a recent workshop held in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. He emphasized its importance for the community in fighting identity-based violence to maintain social cohesion and strengthen social fabric. Dr. Imad al-Din Ahmed Salem, a lecturer at the University of El Fasher, delivered a lecture on community organization and its impact on social peace according to the functionalist theory that regulates society. The lecture also covered the steps of community organization, including research, planning, and coordination. Another lecture addressed the dangers of hate speech towards society. The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including expanding participation to include community leaders, activists, and popular media, organizing cultural and awareness festivals in shelters and neighborhoods, transferring training workshops to localities and rural areas, and promoting a culture of peace. #Sudan_Free_Democratic A glimpse of the workshop on combating identity-based violence was held today at the organization’s hall in North Darfur State in collaboration with the Rights for Peace organization. #DOFDAHR #RIGHTS_FOR_PEACE #10JANUARY
