The center for sheltering displaced people at Badr al-Kubri Basic School for Girls was among the centers that included awareness sessions on the dangers of diseases and ways to combat and prevent them (malaria, dengue fever,) and identity-based violence), organized by the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources in North Darfur, El Fasher. In continuation of the community awareness campaign in the shelters for displaced people in North Darfur, El Fasher, the Darfur Organization for Development and Resources (DOFDAHR )organized an awareness session at the Sharqia Model Primary School Center for Boys. The session included awareness of the dangers of diseases (malaria, cholera, typhoid), methods of its spread, and ways to combat and prevent it. Additionally, the Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Health Sciences actively participated in this humanitarian endeavor. Their presence highlights the significance of collaborative efforts between academic institutions, governmental bodies, and non-profit organizations in addressing healthcare needs in vulnerable communities. The video underscores the significance of taking proactive steps to combat Dengue fever, with a focus on the larval stage of mosquitoes. In the video, key messages include “Protect yourself and your family,” “Contribute to the fight against Dengue fever,” and “The fight begins in the larval stage.” Visual elements highlight specific actions, such as covering water containers, barrels, and ensuring the cleanliness of water basins. The campaign encourages individuals to actively participate in preventing the spread of Dengue fever by following these simple yet crucial steps. Through the engaging and informative video, DOFDAHR endeavors to reach a wider audience and instill a sense of responsibility in the community to collectively combat Dengue fever. School Awareness Activities Summary The Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources, in collaboration with Tabasheer Voluntary for Development Organization and with the support of UNICEF, organized a series of awareness sessions in various schools in North Darfur. The activities aimed to promote hygiene practices, particularly handwashing with soap and water, and raise awareness about health protocols, disease prevention, and the critical times for handwashing.
