DOFDAHR Conducts Cholera Prevention Awareness Activities in Nyala – South Darfur

As part of its ongoing emergency health response under the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities to Curb the Spread of Cholera, and with support from its partners, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a series of community awareness activities in Al-Wahda West, Block 15, Nyala – South Darfur, during October 2025. The Health Promotion Team conducted door-to-door awareness visits reaching 30 households and benefiting 160 community members. The visits aimed to raise awareness about cholera prevention, personal hygiene, and safe sanitation practices. In addition, through a mobile loudspeaker campaign, the team toured the main streets and gathering points of Al-Wahda West — including Al-Suweiq, Sheikh Al-Jazouli Station, Street 40, Al-Laloba Market, Qadra Market, and Kongo Friday Market — delivering key audio messages on the importance of clean water, handwashing, and hygiene practices to protect families from cholera.

DOFDAHR Distributes 200 Food Baskets to Displaced Families in North Darfur

As part of its ongoing humanitarian response, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), has distributed 200 food baskets to displaced families at the Korma Selik IDP Shelter Center in the Shobaa area. The assistance targeted 200 of the most vulnerable families, including people with disabilities and newly displaced persons who recently arrived from El Fasher. Each food basket contained essential food items to help families meet their daily needs, including، A quarter sack of corn، five kg of rice , five kg of sugarand , and three packs of soup. This intervention is part of DOFDAHR’s continued commitment to support crisis-affected families and alleviate the hardships faced by displaced communities in North Darfur State.

DOFDAHR Advances Civic Awareness Through Knowledge Nexus Project in Uganda

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote civic awareness and peacebuilding, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted the fourth and fifth Civic Education Sessions under the Knowledge Nexus Project in Kampala, Uganda, with the participation of 40 young men and women. Each session brought together 20 participants from diverse backgrounds to discuss the concept of collective responsibility for the past and its role in fostering understanding, promoting reconciliation, and strengthening peace within Sudanese society. This initiative is part of DOFDAHR’s continued commitment to supporting community dialogue and empowering youth participation in building a future founded on peace, unity, and social cohesion.

DOFDAHR Raises Cholera Awareness Through Community Theater in North Darfur

As part of its ongoing emergency health response efforts, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a cholera prevention awareness campaign in Tawila Locality, North Darfur State, featuring an engaging theatrical performance with participation from local artists. The activity was implemented with the support of IOM Sudan.  The campaign attracted more than 700 community members, including men, women, and children. It featured interactive discussions and drama performances that delivered key messages on hygiene practices, cholera prevention, and environmental cleanliness.  This initiative is part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities, aiming to reduce the spread of cholera and promote public health in affected areas.

DOFDAHR Launches Cholera Awareness Campaign in Nyala South

Registers 500 Households in Nyala South Ahead of Hygiene Kit Distribution

As part of its emergency response efforts and continued commitment to supporting affected families, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Sudan, has completed the registration of 500 households in Nyala South Locality, South Darfur State, in preparation for distributing hygiene kits containing essential personal care items. This initiative is implemented under the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities, which aims to prevent the spread of cholera and promote improved hygiene and health practices among affected communities.

IOM Project

For the Second Time in a Row: Continued Support for Displaced People in North Darfur As part of the ongoing efforts by the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources to support those affected by conflict, and i partnership with IOM Sudan under the RRF mechanism, with support from USAID, the organization has completed the distribution of emergency shelter materials to 1,000 newly displaced families from Zamzam Camp to Tawila and Dar Alsalam localities. This support has reached approximately 6,311 individuals in Dar Alsalam and Tawila, in North Darfur State. This project aims to improve access to emergency shelter for newly displaced persons in the state and alleviate their suffering amid the difficult humanitarian conditions they are facing.

Capacity Building for Sudanese Diaspora: Civic Education Training in Kampala.

With the participation of 40 young men and women representing 18 Sudanese states, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources organized a Training of Trainers (TOT) on civic education in Kampala this week. Funded by USAID Sudan, the training aimed to enhance the capacity of Sudanese in the diaspora for advocating, networking, and supporting peace efforts in Sudan.
