Food Basket Distribution for Newly Displaced Families in Kurma – El Fasher

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food basket distribution as part of its ongoing humanitarian response project in the Kurma displacement camps of El Fasher. Implemented in partnership with the Global Whole Being Fund, the intervention targeted 200 newly displaced families who recently fled the events in El Fasher. Food Basket Distribution for Newly Displaced Families in Kurma – North Darfur

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food basket distribution as part of its ongoing humanitarian response in the Kurma displacement camps of El Fasher. The activity was implemented with generous support and partnership from the Global Whole Being Fund.The distribution targeted 200 displaced families who recently arrived in Silak Kurma Camp over the past two weeks following the latest developments in El Fasher. Each food basket contained 5 kg of rice, 5 kg of sugar, a quarter sack of sorghum, and 3 bars of soap. This intervention is part of DOFDAHR’s continued efforts to strengthen food security and provide urgent humanitarian assistance to affected households, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across North Darfur.

Mobile Awareness Campaign in Tawila – North Darfur

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for Displaced Persons and Host Communities to Combat Cholera and Promote Public Health and Hygiene, and with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a mobile awareness campaign on 11 November 2025 in several areas of Tawila, North Darfur. Through the mobile microphone activity, health messages were repeatedly broadcast in communities such as Um Jangour, Shakshako, and Ab Jangour New IDP site, reaching a total of 2,370 people (1,120 males and 1,250 females). The campaign focused on promoting handwashing, safe water use, and hygiene practices to prevent cholera and other waterborne diseases.

DOFDAHR Expands Health Awareness Efforts in Nyala to Combat Cholera

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for Displaced Persons and Host Communities to Combat Cholera and Promote Public Health and Hygiene, and with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM Sudan), the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continues to implement extensive field activities in Nyala, South Darfur. The initiative aims to strengthen health awareness and improve hygiene practices among local communities affected by the cholera outbreak.Between 2 and 5 November 2025, DOFDAHR’s field teams carried out a series of community-based awareness activities in different neighborhoods of Nyala. These included dialogue sessions in Al-Wali neighborhoods (Blocks 25 and 32), benefiting over 350 participants, including women, men, and children. An additional awareness session held at the West Al-Idhaa Schools Complex reached approximately 480 students and women.To further engage the community, a health-themed theatre performance was organized at Al-Miraj Basic School Complex, attracting around 1,250 attendees. The play delivered key messages on cholera prevention, personal hygiene, and community health protection. Complementing these activities, DOFDAHR’s teams conducted mobile loudspeaker campaigns across Al-Waha, Al-Jeer South, and Al-Jeer North neighborhoods, broadcasting more than 100 live and recorded health messages. The campaign reached an estimated 2,400 residents, delivering essential information on hygiene and disease prevention through major community points such as schools, markets, and public gathering areas. These efforts reflect DOFDAHR’s ongoing commitment to promoting public health, enhancing hygiene awareness, and supporting the resilience of communities affected by displacement and health challenges in South Darfur, in close partnership with IOM Sudan.

DOFDAHR Continues Cholera Awareness Efforts in South Darfur

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities aimed at combating cholera and promoting health and hygiene awareness, and with the support of IOM Sudan, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continues its field efforts in South Darfur State. In October 2025, DOFDAHR’s field teams conducted home visits in Nyala city, reaching 30 households and delivering vital awareness messages on personal hygiene and cholera prevention to more than 199 beneficiaries. The following day, an interactive theater performance was held at Abdullah Al-Ta’aishi Basic School in Nyala South locality, engaging 264 students, teachers, and community members in an entertaining and educational session on cholera prevention.

Community Engagement and Health Promotion Activities Continue in North Darfur

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities to Combat Cholera and Promote Public Health, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continued its awareness activities in Shokshoko, Tawila locality, with the support from IOM Sudan. Over the two days, 27–28 October 2025, DOFDAHR’s field teams carried out several outreach activities, including:Home visits reaching 60 households with a total of 362 individuals, benefiting 267 people directly. Two community dialogue sessions targeting women aged 25–50 years, with 34 participants. Additionally, the team conducted a mobile microphone campaign across Dabba Naira and Shokshoko, spreading key health messages on cholera prevention, personal hygiene, and water safety

Awareness and Interactive Theatre Activities to Combat Cholera in North Darfur – Tawila Locality

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities, and with the support fom IOMSudan, Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continued its awareness activities in Tawila locality, North Darfur, inOctober 2025. The activities included home visits to 30 households (172 individuals), reaching 129 direct beneficiaries. A community discussion session targeting 16 women aged between 25 and 30 was also conducted in Shokshoko area. Additionally, an awareness event was held at Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque and Khalwa, benefiting over 480 participants. An interactive theatre performance was organized as part of the campaign to raise health awareness on cholera prevention, combining education and entertainment to deliver vital health messages in an engaging and effective way.
