DOFDAHR Delivers Essential Hygiene Kits to Vulnerable Families in South Darfur

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM Sudan) and with support from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), distributed health and hygiene kits for women and girls to 189 displaced families in Nyala South locality, South Darfur State. This intervention comes as part of the emergency response project aimed at curbing the spread of cholera and strengthening public health services for displaced and host communities. The kits included essential personal care and women’s health items designed to support women and girls and reduce the risk of cholera transmission, particularly amid the severe shortages in water and sanitation services in affected areas. This initiative forms part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable families, enhance community resilience, protect women and girls, raise health awareness, and contribute to preventing the escalation of epidemics while improving overall public health in the affected communities.

DOFDAHR Distributes Hygiene and Dignity Kits to Affected Families and Communities in Tawila, North Darfur

As part of the emergency assistance project for displaced families and host communities to curb the spread of cholera in Tawila locality, North Darfur — in partnership with IOM Sudan and with support from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) — the organization began distributing hygiene and dignity kits on 28 November 2025 to the most affected families in Daba Naira and Shakshako sites. A total of 63 displaced families received essential kits, providing women and girls with basic items for personal hygiene and menstrual health. This support aims to reduce health risks linked to cholera amid severe shortages in water and sanitation services within displacement sites. These interventions reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting affected families, strengthening their resilience amid the deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions in conflict-affected areas, and contributing to the prevention of further outbreaks. The efforts also prioritize the protection of women and girls and promote health awareness within the affected communities to tackle current epidemic risks.

Field Verification Completed to Support Upcoming WASH Assistance for IDP Families in Darfur

As part of the emergency assistance project for displaced families and host communities in the WASH sector, and funded by the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), the project team conducted a field verification from 25–26 November 2025. The exercise covered IDP camps in Nyala South, South Darfur, and Tawila in North Darfur (Daba Naira and Shakshako).The verification aimed to confirm the presence of registered families, update beneficiary lists, and ensure they receive support cards for upcoming distributions of personal hygiene and public health kits. The team visited homes, met with local community leaders, and reviewed beneficiary lists to enhance transparency and aid planning, ensuring critical support reaches the most vulnerable families efficiently.

DOFDAHR Supports 250 Displaced Families with Food Assistance in Korma, North Darfur

As part of its ongoing partnership and support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food distribution operation on 25 November 2025 under its project supporting displaced families and communities affected by conflict in Al-Fasher. The distribution reached 250 households in the villages of Taw, Um Kharouk, Um Jadeed, and Maqabil in the Korma administrative unit of Al-Fasher locality, North Darfur. Families received essential food items including rice, oil, maize, flour, salt, and soap, aiming to alleviate daily hardships and strengthen food security for the most vulnerable. This initiative reflects DOFDAHR’s commitment to delivering humanitarian assistance in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that support reaches those most in need promptly and effectively.

DOFDAHR Responds to Urgent Needs of Newly Displaced Families in Korma North Darfur

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) has launched a new humanitarian intervention as part of its ongoing food basket distribution project in the Korma displacement camps. The initiative targets newly displaced families affected by the ongoing conflict in Darfur and is implemented in partnership with Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), reinforcing joint efforts to provide timely emergency support and protect vulnerable communities. During this phase of the distribution, 233 out of 500 newly arrived households in Korma Camp received essential food assistance, including rice, oil, soap, sorghum, flour, and salt. The remaining households are expected to be reached later this week.In parallel, with support from the Adeela Initiative, DOFDAHR has prepared an additional distribution for 250 households in Tawila locality, scheduled for later this week. These interventions highlight DOFDAHR’s commitment to alleviating immediate needs, strengthening community resilience, and supporting the most affected families amid worsening humanitarian conditions.

Food Basket Distribution for Newly Displaced Families in Kurma – North Darfur

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food basket distribution as part of its ongoing humanitarian response in the Kurma displacement camps of El Fasher. The activity was implemented with generous support and partnership from the Global Whole Being Fund.The distribution targeted 200 displaced families who recently arrived in Silak Kurma Camp over the past two weeks following the latest developments in El Fasher. Each food basket contained 5 kg of rice, 5 kg of sugar, a quarter sack of sorghum, and 3 bars of soap. This intervention is part of DOFDAHR’s continued efforts to strengthen food security and provide urgent humanitarian assistance to affected households, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across North Darfur.

Mobile Awareness Campaign in Tawila – North Darfur

As part of the Emergency Assistance Project for Displaced Persons and Host Communities to Combat Cholera and Promote Public Health and Hygiene, and with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a mobile awareness campaign on 11 November 2025 in several areas of Tawila, North Darfur. Through the mobile microphone activity, health messages were repeatedly broadcast in communities such as Um Jangour, Shakshako, and Ab Jangour New IDP site, reaching a total of 2,370 people (1,120 males and 1,250 females). The campaign focused on promoting handwashing, safe water use, and hygiene practices to prevent cholera and other waterborne diseases.
