Director’s Participation in Rights for Peace Workshop on Combating Identity-Based Violence

As part of the organization’s director’s participation in the workshop organized by the Rights for Peace organization in Uganda on combating identity-based violence in North Darfur, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources is set to initiate a series of dialogue and awareness sessions in the state. The workshops aim to address and combat hate speech and identity-based violence. This engagement was a result of the director’s involvement in the workshop held by RIGHTS FOR PEACE in Uganda on combating identity-based violence in North Darfur. The upcoming sessions organized by the Darfur Organization will serve as a valuable platform for dialogue and awareness, fostering efforts to combat hate speech and violence rooted in identity within the state.

As part of its tireless endeavor to consolidate the rule of law and the role of the police in the civil state, members of the Darfur organization met with the director of the state police in the presence of the Advisory Police Unit in UNITAMS, in the presence of Major Muhammad Othman. Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources received commendation from the Environmental Cleanup Initiative under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development for its outstanding contribution to the initiative. Meeting with the Director of Police, North Darfur – Humanitarian Initiatives for Vulnerable Children

As part of its earnest efforts to serve the people of the state, particularly the vulnerable segments of society, a representative from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources held a meeting with the Director of Police for North Darfur State. Mr. Abdullah Yaqoub Adam, the organization’s Project Manager, attended the meeting along with Mr. Mohamed Musdaq, the Head of the Childhood Department within the organization. The meeting was conducted in the presence of Police General Yahia Mohamed Ahmed Al-Noor. The discussion centered on ways to assist children lacking proper documentation in the displacement camps, particularly in obtaining birth certificates and national identification numbers. The collaboration with the Social Welfare Department was emphasized to facilitate the process. The initiative also aims to encourage families to adopt these children as a form of social solidarity, reducing the rates of homelessness and educational gaps in society. Police General Yahia Mohamed Ahmed Al-Noor welcomed the visit, expressing full support for initiatives that benefit vulnerable and undocumented segments of the population. He explained the required procedures for obtaining such documents and urged the removal of any obstacles to integrating these individuals into society. Following the meeting, the organization promptly initiated the registration and classification processes, coordinating with relevant authorities such as Social Welfare and the State Council for Childhood to implement the project. Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources appeals to all members of society to advocate for and support the adoption of undocumented children, facilitating their integration into families and the community. Signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Dysis Mann Organization for Peace and Development

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources and Dysis Mann Organization for Peace and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office in North Darfur State. The signing ceremony, attended by Dr. Abbas Yousif Adam, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner for the state, and Mr. Mohammed Sharaf El-Din Mahmoud, the Director of Assessment and Monitoring at the Coordination Office, marked a significant step in collaboration. Representing Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources, Mr. Bahaa Al-Din Bushara Sharif, the organization’s director, and from Dysis Mann Organization, Mr. Mohammed Yahya Mohammed Bashir (Dysis Mann), signed the MoU to join forces in the areas of peacebuilding, human development, youth rehabilitation, and sustainable development. Commissioner Adam emphasized the vital role of civil society organizations in peacebuilding and development, praising the commitment of both organizations. The directors of the organizations expressed gratitude for the strong support from the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner’s office, acknowledging the collaborative effort in overcoming challenges for the benefit of the community.
