Food Distribution for Displaced Families in North Darfur Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today launched the first round of food basket distributions, targeting 60 displaced families sheltered at Al-Salam Secondary School for Girls in El Fasher. This initiative comes in response to the urgent humanitarian needs of families who have been forced to flee their homes and are currently facing severe shortages of food, water, and clothing. The program will continue in the coming days to cover other displacement centers across the city as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to assist the most vulnerable groups.

DOFDAHR Distributes Food Baskets to Displaced Families in Zamzam Camp

As part of its emergency humanitarian response, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today carried out the distribution of food baskets to displaced families in Zamzam (Takmari) Camp, North Darfur. The activity was supported by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).A total of 100 families, including the most vulnerable households and persons with disabilities, benefited from the distribution. These families continue to face severe challenges due to displacement and shortages of food and water. This initiative reflects DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of affected communities and support the resilience of displaced populations in Darfur.

Food Distribution to Vulnerable Families in El Fasher Supported by Norwegian People’s Aid

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), volunteers from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food distribution activity targeting the most vulnerable and needy families at the IDP camp in the Riyadh neighborhood (Riyadh Mosque and Ansar Al-Sunna Mosque) in El Fasher. A total of 50 families benefited from this initiative. Each family received a food basket containing:2 kg of sugar2 kg of flour2 kg of rice2 kg of lentils2 bags of pasta1 bag of salt4 liters of oil5 kg of onions. This intervention comes as part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to support internally displaced persons and strengthen community resilience amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur.

DOFDAHR Provides Shelter Support to Conflict-Affected Families in North Darfur

As part of its ongoing humanitarian response to the needs of displaced families, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) today distributed shelter materials to 35 families among the most war-affected households in Saluma Camps (A), (B), and (C) in El Fasher. The activity was supported by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and implemented through DOFDAHR’s network of dedicated volunteers.This intervention aims to provide safe shelter and improve the living conditions of displaced families. The distribution will continue in the coming days to cover the remaining targeted locations.

DOFDAHR Continues Mosquito Spraying Campaigns in El Fasher Shelter Centers

As part of its ongoing efforts to control disease vectors and in preparation for the distribution of plastic sheets and mosquito nets, volunteers from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) continued a mosquito spraying and control campaign at the Al-Thawra South Basic School for Boys Shelter Centre in El Fasher. The campaign aims to improve sanitary conditions in displacement centres and reduce the spread of vector-borne diseases, especially with the onset of the rainy season. DOFDAHR confirmed that spraying campaigns will continue in the coming days across other shelter centres to ensure a safer and healthier environment for displaced families.

DOFDAHR Distributes Shelter Materials and Mosquito Nets to Displaced Families in El Fasher

The Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), conducted a distribution campaign of shelter materials and mosquito nets across several displacement centers in El Fasher. The distribution covered the Dabbagha Shelter Centre, Al-Thawra Basic School for Boys, Zat Al-Nataqain School, and Al-Shaheed Center, benefiting 40 of the most vulnerable families. This initiative is part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing efforts to improve living conditions and health protection for displaced persons in North Darfur. Awareness Session on the Prevention of Conjunctivitis at Al-Thawra South Shelter Center in El Fasher

 Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) organized an awareness session at the Al-Thawra South Shelter Center in El Fasher to educate displaced families about conjunctivitis (eye inflammation) and effective prevention methods. The session included health messages and practical tips, such as avoiding shaking hands with infected individuals. Wash hands regularly with soap and water. This initiative is part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing health awareness campaign aimed at promoting preventive behaviours and disease control among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and affected communities

DOFDAHR Distributes Hygiene Supplies to Girls at Umm Shajaira Displacement Shelter in El Fasher

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote health and dignity among displaced communities, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), distributed 50 personal hygiene kits to girls residing at the displaced persons shelter at Umm Shajaira Basic School for Boys in El Fasher. The distribution activity was accompanied by an awareness session focused on personal hygiene and health practices, aiming to empower adolescent girls with essential knowledge to maintain their well-being and prevent hygiene-related illnesses. This initiative comes within the framework of DOFDAHR’s humanitarian response

DOFDAHR Volunteers Distribute Food Baskets to Vulnerable Families in El Fasher

With generous support from a philanthropist for the people of El Fasher amounting to 500,000 SDG, a team of volunteers from the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a food distribution initiative at the shelter center of Al-Thawra Secondary School for Girls. A total of 25 food baskets was distributed to the most vulnerable families and persons with disabilities. Each basket contained essential food items, including flour, rice, lentils, oil, and sugar, aimed at alleviating the current food insecurity faced by displaced and affected households. In addition to the philanthropist’s contribution, DOFDAHR and its volunteers contributed 15,000 SDG to support the initiative. DOFDAHR expresses its sincere appreciation to the generous donor and all volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make this humanitarian intervention possible

Distribution of clean water for drinking in North Darfur IDP camps and shelters

With support from Norwegian People’s Aid, Dofdahr distributed water to vulnerable people in North Darfur state. The activities implemented as follows: 1) 27.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Abu- Jarpoun center, 235 family benefited from it. 2) 28.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at South Higher School for girls, 177 family benefited from it 3) 29.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Al- barary center, 257 family benefited from it 4) 30.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Shalla Prison  center, 150 family benefited from it 5) 31.7.2024 – Distributed 9000 liters of pure drinking water in the IDPs shelter at Abu- Jarpoun center, 180 family benefited from it.
