Food Distribution Reaches 640 Households in El Tina, North Darfur

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR), with funding support from Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), successfully implemented an emergency food distribution intervention in El Tina locality, North Darfur State.

The activity targeted displaced and conflict-affected families at Amarai gathering site, reaching 640 households (6,594 individuals) with life-saving food assistance to address urgent humanitarian needs.A two-day registration exercise was conducted from 9–10 February 2026, ensuring transparent beneficiary verification and accurate targeting of vulnerable households.

The distribution followed on 11–12 February 2026, with all registered families receiving their full entitlements.Each household received a standardized food basket consisting of 15 kg of millet, 1 kg of sugar, 1.5 liters of cooking oil, and 800 grams of salt. In total, the intervention utilized 100 bags of millet (60kg each), 13 bags of sugar (50kg each), 64 bags of salt (8kg each), and 54 jerry cans of oil (18 liters each).

This intervention contributed to strengthening food security among displaced communities while upholding dignity, accountability, and equitable access to assistance.

DOFDAHR remains committed to delivering timely humanitarian support to vulnerable populations across North Darfur in partnership with trusted donors and local stakeholders.
