DOFDAHR Implements Food Basket Distribution Project in Dar El Salam, North Darfur

As part of its emergency humanitarian response to support displaced populations and conflict-affected communities in Darfur, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) has launched a Food Basket Distribution Project in Dar El Salam Town, North Darfur State, with the support of Norwegian People’s Aid.

The distribution activities commenced on 22 December 2025, targeting 500 of the most vulnerable households, based on humanitarian targeting criteria that prioritize families facing acute needs and heightened vulnerability due to the ongoing conflict.

Each household received a food basket containing essential items designed to meet immediate daily needs, including 6 kg of dura (sorghum), 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of salt, and 1.22 liters of cooking oil, contributing to minimum food security during the emergency phase.

This intervention is implemented amid the continued deterioration of humanitarian conditions and livelihoods in North Darfur, aiming to alleviate suffering, strengthen household resilience, and ensure timely access to life-saving assistance for the most affected communities.
