DOFDAHR Distributes Hygiene and Dignity Kits to Affected Families and Communities in Tawila, North Darfur

As part of the emergency assistance project for displaced families and host communities to curb the spread of cholera in Tawila locality, North Darfur — in partnership with IOM Sudan and with support from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) — the organization began distributing hygiene and dignity kits on 28 November 2025 to the most affected families in Daba Naira and Shakshako sites.

A total of 63 displaced families received essential kits, providing women and girls with basic items for personal hygiene and menstrual health. This support aims to reduce health risks linked to cholera amid severe shortages in water and sanitation services within displacement sites.

These interventions reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting affected families, strengthening their resilience amid the deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions in conflict-affected areas, and contributing to the prevention of further outbreaks.

The efforts also prioritize the protection of women and girls and promote health awareness within the affected communities to tackle current epidemic risks.
