Community Awareness Session on Cholera Prevention in Shokshoko – in Tawilla

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness on cholera prevention, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) conducted a community discussion session in Shokshoko – Shajarat Al-Shuyoukh in October 2025, with the participation of health promoters.

This activity was implemented under the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities, with the generous support of IOMSudan.

The session witnessed active participation from 100 women aged between 20 and 40 years. Participants demonstrated a notable improvement in knowledge and positive behaviors, particularly regarding drinking chlorinated water and seeking medical care at health centers.

In addition, the team conducted home visits to 30 families (164 individuals) to further promote healthy practices, including the preparation of oral rehydration solutions and water chlorination techniques.
