DOFDAHR Implements Cholera Prevention Awareness Activities in Nyala

As part of its ongoing emergency health response efforts under the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities to Curb the Spread of Cholera, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a series of health and awareness activities in Al-Wahda West area, Nyala – South Darfur, during October 2025, with the support and partnership of humanitarian actors. With support from IOM Sudan.

A community discussion session was held with 100 participants of different age groups, addressing preventive health measures and family protection strategies.Participants actively engaged in the discussions and expressed their commitment to applying the health messages shared.

The campaign concluded with the distribution of health leaflets at Mecca Mosque in Al-Wahda, in coordination with the mosque’s Imam.The activity reached over 700 people, including worshippers and children.

These activities are part of DOFDAHR’s ongoing emergency health response efforts, aimed at strengthening community awareness and promoting preventive health behaviors among displaced and host populations in South Darfur.
