DOFDAHR Conducts Cholera Prevention Awareness Activities in Nyala – South Darfur

As part of its ongoing emergency health response under the Emergency Assistance Project for IDPs and Host Communities to Curb the Spread of Cholera, and with support from its partners, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources (DOFDAHR) carried out a series of community awareness activities in Al-Wahda West, Block 15, Nyala – South Darfur, during October 2025.

The Health Promotion Team conducted door-to-door awareness visits reaching 30 households and benefiting 160 community members. The visits aimed to raise awareness about cholera prevention, personal hygiene, and safe sanitation practices.

In addition, through a mobile loudspeaker campaign, the team toured the main streets and gathering points of Al-Wahda West — including Al-Suweiq, Sheikh Al-Jazouli Station, Street 40, Al-Laloba Market, Qadra Market, and Kongo Friday Market — delivering key audio messages on the importance of clean water, handwashing, and hygiene practices to protect families from cholera.
