Dialogue Sessions in Kampala Empower Sudanese Youth for Justice and Post-War Peacebuilding

As part of the Project to Strengthen the Capacities of Sudanese in the Diaspora to Support Peace Efforts and Post-War Mechanisms, the Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources, in collaboration with Binaa for Democracy & Development and with support from USAID Sudan, organized the fourth Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Kampala, Uganda.

The session discussed the book “Recognition: Towards a New Concept of Justice – A Study in Social Philosophy” by Algerian philosopher Zawawi Baghoura, with the participation of 20 young men and women. The discussion explored the concept of recognition as a tool for addressing social, economic, and political issues, while emphasizing the role of youth in justice, transitional justice, and national reconciliation—key pillars for building a just society in post-war Sudan.

Within the same series of activities, another dialogue session was held in Kampala, focusing on the theme of Identity and Nationalism, with the participation of 19 young Sudanese representing 18 states. The session aimed to strengthen youth capacities in critical thinking, networking, and advocacy, empowering them to play an active role in shaping a sustainable future for Sudan.
