Dear compassionate hearts,

We urgently seek assistance for a family facing dire circumstances. The family consists of the father, Arbab Zakaria, and the mother, Halima Abdul Rahman Adam, along with three children. They currently reside in a precarious hut, facing extreme difficulties, particularly with the onset of winter. They lack blankets, bedding, and shelter to protect them from the cold.

Darfur Organization for Development and Human Resources visited the family at their residence, conducted an interview with the mother (who is suffering from a mental illness), and learned about their challenging situation. The father works in the profession of manufacturing bricks (the trade of “Al Kwanin”).

The organization, acknowledging its responsibilities toward the community, appeals to all the benevolent and compassionate individuals to stand with this family. We request any possible support, including providing them with a rented house. It is important to note that their current dwelling is unauthorized, situated in a residential area designated for someone else.

Additionally, the family is impoverished, facing difficulties in accessing water due to their distance from the nearest water source. They also struggle with obtaining sufficient food due to their low income.

Any assistance for the family is greatly appreciated, whether it be in the form of food items, bedding, used or new children’s clothing, or contributions towards renting a house.

Note: The family currently resides in North Darfur State, El Fasher, in the Unity neighborhood west of the electricity station.
